Privacy Policy

Looksmith is a personal tool. Your wardrobe data is yours, and we handle it carefully. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do and don't do with it.

1. What We Collect

Account information

• Your email address
• Your password (stored as a secure hash, so we never see it in plain text)

Wardrobe data

• Photos of clothing items you upload
• Item details you enter: name, category, color, size, cost, tags, care instructions, store URLs
• Outfits you save and the items in them
• Wear logs and comfort ratings
• Trip plans and day-by-day outfit assignments
• Your style profile (aesthetics, fit preferences, occasion preferences)

Usage data

• Session data used to keep you signed in (via cookies)
• Basic device and browser information collected automatically by our infrastructure provider

2. How We Use It

• Core features: we provide outfit suggestions, insights, trip planning, and wardrobe management.
• Personalized recommendations: we generate outfit recommendations tailored to your wardrobe and style preferences.
• Add wardrobe analysis: when you use the Add wardrobe feature, your photos are sent to a third-party image-analysis service to identify clothing type, category, and color. The service processes each photo only to return the requested item details; we don't send photos to it for any other purpose.
• Weather: when you request outfit suggestions, your entered city is sent to a weather-data service to retrieve current conditions. We don't store your location.

3. Storage and Security

Account and wardrobe data are stored with managed database infrastructure in the United States. Photos are kept in private object storage, and authentication is handled by a managed identity service.

4. What We Don't Do

• We don't sell your data to anyone.
• We don't use your data to train automated systems.

5. Your Rights and Controls

• Access: All your data is visible in the app.
• Correction: You can edit any item, outfit, or profile detail at any time.
• Deletion: You can delete all your wardrobe data, or your entire account, at any time from your profile settings. Deletion is permanent and immediate.
• Email preferences: You choose which types of emails you receive from the email settings in your profile.
• Export: If you need a copy of your data, send us a message using the form at the bottom of this page and we'll help.

6. Cookies

Looksmith uses essential cookies for session management, which keeps you signed in between visits. With your permission, we also record a small first-party product-event ledger to measure activation, wardrobe growth, suggestion adoption, repeat use, and trip planning. These events use a server-derived pseudonymous identifier and coarse counters only; they never include email, names, wardrobe contents, photos, locations, trip details, prompts, tokens, or provider errors. Choose “Essential only” to decline optional product analytics. Your choice is stored locally and can be changed by clearing site data.

7. Product events and deletion

Product events are retained for up to 395 days, are separated by environment, and are deduplicated at the server-owned state transition that produced them. Admin emulation sessions are excluded. Deleting your data or account deletes the associated first-party event rows as part of the same privacy procedure.

8. Children

Looksmith is not intended for users under 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We'll update the effective date at the top of this page if we make material changes. We may also notify you by email for significant changes. Continued use of Looksmith after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
